PETER JONES MY MUSIC MENTOR
My first real job after Star Wars was working for Record Mirror, Sounds and Music Week. This was for Spotlight Publications.
I was an office boy and messenger. I had much fun during the 2 years I worked for them.
During my time I visited Carnaby Street and the offices of Billboard, The Who management.
The Who management were so nice to me, Mike Shaw, Paul Cummings and Chris Stamp ( Terence Stamps brother). Even ThunderClap Newman who I once sang 'Something in the Air' with in the Who's office.
But the very lovely Peter Jones who was Chief Editor of Billboard and who also discovered the Rolling Stones in a Richmond Pub was a true and good friend.
I loved this man who kindly gave me my very first reference.
Bless you Peter Jones.
